Our group’s work (in collaboration with Prof. Dunn, Shanghai Jian Tong University, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) on restacked 2D materials quantum-sheet films has been published online by Nature Nanotechnology. We developed an exfoliation-and-restacking strategy for 1T-MoS2 quantum sheets and achieved ultrahigh-rate electrochemical capacitance in these high dense, narrow (sub-1.2 nm), and ultrashort (~6.1 nm) nanochannels. The channel width can be tuned by the hydration/dehydration processes. A record combination of areal capacitance and volumetric capacitance was achieved (see the figure).
